CANNABIS & HEMP COMPLIANCE

Cannabis and hemp regulations vary across the USA. Although hemp is legal to transport within all 50 states, you are not able to grow, sell, or process hemp in every state, unless the state explicitly allows for it. (Despite federal law, Patriot Shield does not recommend you transport any hemp through any state.)

Hemp is regulated by the amount of THC content that it contains. States account for either Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol (Delta-9 THC), or Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA) plus Delta-9 THC, also known as “Total THC”. Each state has its own rules about what can be done with “hot hemp”, typically it must be destroyed, or remediated (the THC levels mechanically or chemically reduced). Hot hemp is hemp where THC (either Delta-9 or Total THC depending on the state) rises above 0.3%.

Total THC is calculated as follows: if a hemp sample has Δ9 THC concentrations of 0.15% and THCA concentrations of 0.15%, then the “total THC” is 0.15% + (0.15% x 87.70%) = 0.28155%
The following table may not be up to date and therefore may not reflect the latest state compliance issues.
